Nesting: the overwhelming desire during pregnancy to get your home ready for your new baby. The nesting instinct is strongest in the later weeks coming up on delivery.

Or in my case:

Nesting: the overwhelming desire leading up to and during pregnancy to get your home ready for your new baby after years of infertility and patiently waiting. The nesting instinct does not cease from the moment you schedule IVF and includes creating three registries before you're even pregnant.

And the high energy part that's supposed to kick in a few weeks before labor? Now that school is out (and even since the school year started winding down), our house has never been cleaner! The nursery is already coming along and the registries have been fine-tuned after months of online "window" shopping and extensive Instagram and Pinterest research.

Instagram Inspiration

It all started back in October when we set a date for IVF and I needed something to get me excited and hopeful... and sometimes to keep me distracted too. My Pinterest searches changed, and I started following complete strangers on Instagram. I'd see something I liked and scour the internet trying to find something similar.

Favorite Things

With the help of an Amazon Universal Baby Registry, I started to collect both necessities and accessories, creating my dream nursery for my dream baby.

Registries

I have loved this universal registry, but we'll see how it actually works once anyone else starts using it. And somewhere along the way, I added a Target registry for the internet adverse and an IKEA registry just because.

Ultimately, baby can live quite happily in her white onesies and clean diapers with her 10 fingers and 10 toes, and it will be a dream with or without the stuff... But it's been fun after SO long to plan and prepare and dream and nest!
