I've been waiting for 10 years to visit Solvang, CA, ever since I first learned about it. I even tried to talk Matt into visiting for our honeymoon (to no avail). So when I made plans to fly home for my baby shower, I easily got my mom and my sisters in-law on board, and we planned a girl's day! We thoroughly Pinterest researched Solvang in advance, which pretty much entailed places to eat :) Solvang Restaurant had the most delicious Aebleskiver with raspberry syrup and powdered sugar. I bought some Aebleskiver mix AND I'm happy to see that they have an online store! For fudge and caramel apples, we stopped into Old Danish Food Farm Fudge Kitchen. And of all the bakeries, we bought our pastries at Morensen's Bakery. YUM. Before we loaded up on all those sweets, our FIRST stop was at the Copenhagen Sausage Garden. We split four sausages four ways: The brat, the Frank, the chicken apple, and the chorizo. They had delicious sauces and traditional toppings- it was delicious and filling. If we had honeymooned here, this would have been Matt's favorite part :) We did some window shopping and Mom treated us to Mani/Pedis. It was the perfect day! It's so fun to have sisters in-law and nieces- with five brothers, I'm loving all this girl time! And Solvang was the perfect destination.
